A 5.0-magnitude earthquake jolted central Assam at 2:25 am on Thursday, the National Center for Seismology reported. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 16 km and was felt across Assam's multiple districts, including in several parts of other Northeastern states. No casualties or property damage were reported. The epicentre was 52 km east of Guwahati in central Assam.
