Amazon is joining Microsoft in backing legislation to restrict Nvidia's ability to export chips to China, the Wall Street Journal reported. The legislation, known as the GAIN AI Act, mandates that AI chipmakers prioritise domestic orders in the US for advanced processors before supplying them to China and other foreign countries. The legislation is also backed by AI startup Anthropic.
