A Mumbai consumer commission directed Apple and Croma to pay ₹65,264 to a now-deceased customer's heirs for failing to resolve a microphone defect in an iPhone. Both manufacturer and seller are "jointly and severally liable for the defective product", the commission said. "Apple merely mentioning certain unauthorised modifications or damage in hardware cannot be correct resolution”, it added.
