At Brazil's COP30 climate summit India urged full implementation of Article 9.1 of Paris Climate Agreement which asks developed nations to provide financial resources to developing countries. India further called for a clear accepted definition of climate finance. In 2024 climate summit, developed nations pledged $300 billion annually from 2035, despite developing nations' demand of $1.3 trillion.
