BJP has fielded candidate named 'Sonia Gandhi' from the Munnar panchayat in Kerala local polls. Sonia's father, late Dure Raj, was a senior Congress leader and named his daughter after ex-Congress President Sonia Gandhi out of admiration for her. Sonia, after getting married, joined BJP as her husband, Subhash, is a BJP worker and currently serves as panchayat general secretary.
