The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB), in its preliminary report on May 8 helicopter crash in Uttarakhand's Uttarkashi, said the helicopter's main rotor struck an overhead fibre cable while attempting an emergency landing. As per the report, the chopper began descending from its assigned altitude about 20 minutes after takeoff. Six people, including the pilot, were killed in the crash.
