In January 2023, Prakash Udagati replaced sugarcane with moringa over 4 acres in Belagavi due to its low market rates and high irrigation costs. He made a profit that same year by selling moringa pods, called drumsticks. His income has now increased over 10 times as he harvests around 60 tonnes of drumsticks annually, earning ₹7 lakh an acre.
