AIIMS Delhi researchers found that good oral hygiene can lower the risk of cancers and improve overall health. Doctors noted that the presence of pathogenic oral bacteria like Porphyromonas gingivalis and Prevotella intermedia can elevate cancer incidence. They added that poor oral health is also closely associated with cardiovascular disease, diabetes, adverse pregnancy outcomes, and Alzheimer's.
