At the TMC conference on Thursday, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee criticised the BJP-led government for the deportation of "illegal" Indian immigrants from the US, calling it "shameful". She said, "Whenever elections approach, the BJP talks about infiltration, but our citizens are deported from the US in chains." She added that government should have ensured their return with respect.
