Socks, being in close contact with feet, should ideally be washed after each wear to prevent odours and bacteria build up. Socks worn during physical activities or in hot climates require more frequent washing, while those worn indoors can be washed less often. Socks must be washed at a high temperature, preferably above 60°C, to effectively kill bacteria and germs.
