Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba's ruling coalition is projected to lose its majority in the upper house, according to local media exit polls. Ishiba's Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and its partner Komeito need 50 seats to retain control of the 248-seat upper chamber. Public broadcaster NHK projected them to win between 32-51.
