Researchers have claimed that mysterious flashes of light captured on photographic plates during 1950s Palomar Sky Survey were caused by reflective objects in high Earth orbit linked to sightings of alleged Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena, a term used to describe UFOs. Some of these unidentified aerial phenomena may have descended into the atmosphere, triggering the visual events, they stated.
