Scientists have discovered a new cockroach, Anaplectoidea garoensis, in South Garo Hills—the first record of its genus in India. Published in Zootaxa, the study also reports A. indica from Jharkhand. Experts say the find highlights Northeast India’s rich but little-known insect diversity.
