Shankracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati Maharaj criticised Maha Kumbh on Wednesday, calling it a "Sarkari Kumbh", adding, "The Maha Kumbh had already passed on Purnima." He said, "All the 'Kalpavasi' who were at the Kumbh left after the Purnima of Magh month." He added that the government-organised event, which ended on February 26, lacks the traditional Kumbh's spiritual significance.
