Two out of five members in the K-pop group 1Verse are North Korean defectors, with others hailing from the US and Japan. Rapper Hyuk and singer Seok are both North Korean-born artists. Hyuk lived in the North Hamgyong Province until age 12 and defected in 2013. Meanwhile, Seok defected in 2019 and refused to provide details due to safety concerns.
