Uttar Pradesh is witnessing a major grassroots economic shift as the Lakhpati Didi initiative empowers rural women. As of November, 18.56 lakh women earn over ₹1 lakh annually. Nearly 36 lakh have been identified for the programme, with income data digitised for 29.68 lakh. With a target of 28.92 lakh lakhpati women by 2026–27, UP is on track to achieve it early.
