Western Railway has introduced an OTP-based Tatkal booking system from December 1, 2025, starting with the Mumbai Central-Ahmedabad Shatabdi Express. Passengers will receive an OTP on the mobile number provided during booking, and tickets will be issued only after verification. The move aims to curb touts, prevent fake reservations, and enhance transparency.
