California-based TransAstra has developed a device called Capture Bags, an inflatable bag that could potentially be used to catch asteroids and space debris. Available in different sizes, the bag is made of aerospace-grade materials such as Kevlar and aluminium. The company completed a preliminary test of the bag aboard the International Space Station in early October.
