Filibuster is an informal term used for attempt to prolong debate and delay or prevent vote on bill, resolution or amendment in US Senate. With US government shutdown set to exceed 35-day mark, President Donald Trump is urging Senate to scrap filibuster. This will allow spending bills to be passed with a simple Senate majority rather than traditional 60-vote threshold.
