Historically, the MY formula was a vote-bank strategy for the RJD, where 'M' stands for Muslims and 'Y' for Yadavs. Muslims and Yadavs provided the RJD with solid base support from 1990 to 2005. However, as NDA heads towards a historic win in Bihar, PM Narendra Modi said, "This victory has given a new positive MY formula—Mahila and Youth."
