Apple has announced that Indian-origin AI researcher Amar Subramanya has been named as its new Vice President (VP) of AI. Subramanya holds a degree in electrical and communication engineering from Bangalore University. Before joining Apple, he most recently worked at Microsoft AI and also spent around 16 years at Google. He was head of engineering for the Google Gemini assistant.
