Why sleeping with lights on could harm a person's heart?

According to a Harvard Health study, when a person sleeps with lights on, even dimly, the body's internal clock (circadian rhythm) gets confused. Large-scale observational data indicate that people exposed to more ambient light while sleeping have higher incidence of heart problems. A Northwestern Medicine study found even single night of moderate light exposure during sleep increased heart rate.
