5.9-magnitude earthquake strikes Taiwan, no loss of life reported
A 5.9-magnitude earthquake struck Taiwan's east coast near Hualien City on Friday at 7:01 pm local time. The tremor, originating 71 km south of Hualien at a depth of 31.1 km, caused buildings in Taipei to shake for about a minute. No immediate reports of casualties have been confirmed as of yet and no tsunami warning has been issued.
