News18 gave 'Criminal Justice: A Family Matter' 3.5 stars out of 5 and called it "a well-seasoned murder mystery". "The season 4 has three obvious assets: Pankaj Tripathi, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub and Surveen Chawla. Director Rohan Sippy has used all three quite well," the review read. "It's time that Surveen's acting chops are acknowledged more loudly," it added.
