'Lung-on-a-chip' which may help detect, fight pandemics early developed
Kyoto University scientists have developed a 'lung-on-a-chip', a micro physiological system (MPS) capable of emulating different regions of human lungs. The device can specifically simulate the airway and alveoli, which can help study how viruses like COVID-19 affect them differently. This will help detect the emerging viruses (possible future pandemics) and facilitate early drug screening.
