'Mothers Against Vaping' group urges MoHFW to ban nicotine pouches
An anti-vaping group, Mothers Against Vaping, appealed to the Union Health Ministry for a ban on nicotine pouches and gums, alleging that they are being falsely marketed as a "safer alternative" to smoking to mislead the youth. Describing the products as the new-age "gateway devices", a group member said that teenagers are lured into trying them out, leading to addiction.
