'Swimming mouse' among 27 new species discovered in Peru's Amazon
A 'swimming mouse', a spiny mouse, eight types of fish and 10 types of butterflies were among the 27 new species discovered by scientists in Peru's Amazon, according to Conservation International. The spiny mouse has stiff fur while 'amphibious mouse' has partially webbed feet that eat aquatic insects. A dwarf squirrel that fits 'in the palm of...hand' was also discovered.
