19-year-old Javokhir Sindarov becomes youngest ever Chess World Cup winner
Uzbek Grandmaster Javokhir Sindarov won the 2025 Chess World Cup in Goa. The 19-year-old beat Chinese Grandmaster Wei Yi 1.5-0.5 in tiebreaks to become the youngest-ever Chess World Cup winner. He won a cash prize of $120,000. Russian Grandmaster Andrey Esipenko won the third-place match.
