22 US states 'in recession & hanging on by fingertips': Moody's
Around 22 US states are either in a recession or on the verge of it, according to a new analysis from Moody's Analytics. Moody's chief economist Mark Zandi exclusively told Fortune that these states are contracting and many lower- and middle-income households are "hanging on by their fingertips". These states include Washington, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Illinois and Delaware, among others.
