3 lakh-yr-old skull from Greece is of primitive hominid, not human
A mysterious 300,000-year-old Petralona skull, found in Greece, may belong to a primitive hominid, a distinct and more primitive group than Homo sapiens and Neanderthals, researchers stated. Scientists used uranium-thorium dating and discovered the skull to be at least 2,86,000 years old. The findings align with previous research that the individual may have lived in Europe alongside Neanderthals.
