4,000 people abused by Catholic priests in Italy since 2020: Group
Over 4,000 people in Italy have suffered abuse by Catholic priests since 2020, according to victims' rights group Rete l’Abuso. The report said majority of survivors were under 18, and an almost equally large number were male, while people with disabilities were also among those affected. Pope Leo has urged new bishops to address such allegations transparently and meet survivors.
