6.0-magnitude earthquake strikes near Japan's Honshu
A 6.0 magnitude earthquake struck near Japan's east coast on October 4 at a depth of 50 km, National Center for Seismology reported. Japan's Shindo scale measures shaking intensity, with levels five and above causing significant damage. No casualties have been reported so far. The country, part of Pacific Ring of Fire, frequently experiences tremors and occasional destructive earthquakes.
