60-year-old farmer turns barren land into forest with 1 lakh trees
Jagdish Kuniyal, 60-year-old Uttarakhand farmer, worked for over four decades to turn his late father's barren land into thriving forest with 1 lakh trees. After multiple trial and errors, he planted seesham, deodar, and oak trees, nourishing them with underground water he dug for. Despite villager's scepticism, he persisted and rose the village's underground water levels, creating sustainability.
