7,000 officers in Dhaka hold drills ahead of Awami League protest
Bangladesh police staged a large-scale security drill across Dhaka ahead of the Awami League’s planned 'Dhaka Lockdown' protest on November 13. Around 7,000 officers in body armour conducted exercises at 142 key locations, including interim government chief Muhammad Yunus’ residence, to deter possible unrest. The Dhaka Metropolitan Police referred to it as a “regular security exercise".
