7,000 steps/day may delay Alzheimer's progression by 7 yrs: Study
Researchers found that walking 5,000 to 7,000 steps daily can delay cognitive decline associated with Alzheimer’s disease by seven years, according to a study published in Nature. They also found that people who walked 3,000 to 5,000 steps daily experienced a three-year delay in cognitive decline. Around 50 million people worldwide are affected by dementia, with Alzheimer’s being leading cause.
