9 states have withdrawn general consent to CBI: Centre
Nine states have withdrawn general consent to the CBI to probe cases, Union Minister Jitendra Singh said on Thursday. The states include Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Kerala, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Punjab, Rajasthan, Telangana and West Bengal. According to the Delhi Special Police Establishment (DSPE) Act, the CBI needs consent from state governments for conducting investigations in its jurisdiction.
