Tata Group-operated Air India flew an Airbus A320 eight times on November 24-25 with an expired airworthiness license, potentially putting passengers' safety at risk, The Economic Times reported. An engineer discovered the huge lapse, after which the plane was taken out of service. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation has initiated an investigation into the matter, hinting at heavy penalties.
