Air India flight gave Mayday call to Air Traffic Control before crash
Air India Ahmedabad-London flight that crashed near Ahmedabad airport on Thursday gave a Mayday call (international distress signal) to Air Traffic Control (ATC) shortly after take-off, DGCA said. However, no response was received from the aircraft after the Mayday call, DGCA said. The plane, carrying around 242 people, crashed outside the airport perimeter, it added.
