Alimony consumes 38% of men’s yearly income; 42% men took loans: Survey
A survey has revealed that 38% of the annual income of men, on average, is spent on maintenance payments post-divorce. Nearly 49% of men reported spending over ₹5 lakh in divorce-related expenses, and 42% took loans to fund alimony payments or legal proceedings, the survey revealed. Furthermore, 29% of alimony-paying men said their net worth turned negative after the settlement.
