Apple defends $20bn Google search deal, says it 'may be unnecessary'
Apple's Senior VP of Services, Eddy Cue, defended the company's $20 billion search deal with Google during the ongoing antitrust trial against the latter. Cue told the US court that AI could bring "huge technological shifts" that would make the deal unnecessary in the long run. While traditional search engines probably won't disrupt Google's monopoly, AI could, Cue added.
