B'desh restores pro-Pak Jamaat-e-Islami's registration ahead of 2026 polls
Bangladesh’s Election Commission has reinstated the registration of the pro-Pakistan and anti-independence Jamaat-e-Islami ahead of general elections, which are scheduled to take place in April 2026. The Election Commission has also restored the party's electoral symbol of the 'scales'. The move follows a Supreme Court order that revived the registrations of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing.
