Baby dies after corridor delivery at Haveri hospital; probe begins
A 30-year-old woman delivered a baby in a corridor at Haveri district hospital, Karnataka, on November 18 after no bed was available. The family alleged the newborn fell and died due to staff negligence. The hospital cited stillbirth from pre-eclampsia and denied shortages. An inquiry committee has been formed, and Child Rights and Women’s Commissions acted suo moto.
