Bioplastic stronger than polyethylene, which degrades like leaf created
Researchers have made a biodegradable plastic by embedding cellulose nanofibers between two layers of bioplastic, named LEAFF (Layered, Ecological, Advanced, and multi-Functional Film). Cellulose structure gives it a higher tensile strength than petrochemical plastics like polyethylene and improves shelf life of food products. Moreover, it doesn't require high-temperature composting to degrade.
