Speaking virtually at the 17th BRICS Summit in Brazil, Russian President Vladimir Putin remarked that BRICS has outperformed the G7 on the economic metric. "BRICS' combined GDP measured by purchasing power parity...stands at $77 trillion" Putin said, quoting purported data by the IMF, and added that corresponding figure for G7 is $57 trillion. Notably, Russia was earlier part of G8.
