Buffaloes, nomads roam free in Himachal's Pong wildlife sanctuary
Hundreds of buffaloes can be seen grazing freely in the restricted Pong wildlife sanctuary area in Samkehar, Bathu and Panalath near the Pong Wetland in Jawali sub-division, Kangra, Himachal Pradesh. Despite violation of sanctuary norms, the authorities are silent. The intrusions in the eco-sensitive zone are being made by nomadic cattle rearers, who have also set up tents there.
