BYD's electric hypercar breaks Bugatti's top speed record
The BYD Yangwang U9 Xtreme has broken the top speed record set by the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+, which managed 304.8 mph in 2019. The Yangwang U9 Xtreme hit 308.34 mph (496.22 km/hr) at ATP Papenburg's high speed oval in Germany. It is now the fastest road-legal car – electric or otherwise – on the planet.
