Calling woman 'sex worker' is crime under BNS: Delhi HC
Recently Delhi High Court has said that calling a woman "prostitute" or "r****" outrages her modesty and is an insult to her dignity. As per section 79 of BNS (section 509 of IPC) uttering vulgar words, abuse, making vulgar gestures, intruding women's privacy with intent to insult her modesty is a punishable crime.
