Pak cuts 1.5 lakh govt jobs, dissolves 6 ministries under IMF deal
Cash-strapped Pakistan on Sunday announced that it'll abolish about 150,000 government posts in an effort to minimise administrative expenditures. Pakistan Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb said that the government has also decided to close six ministries and merge two others. The decision was reportedly taken as part of reforms Pakistan agreed upon with the IMF under a $7 billion loan deal.
