Chess players are supposed to be rational: Goa resort owner on Nepo's criticism
Anup Shah, owner of the Goa resort where players stayed during the FIDE Chess World Cup 2025, responded to Russian Grandmaster Ian Nepomniachtchi's criticism of the conditions in India. "Chess players are supposed to be rational, logical thinkers, and here we've people who complain about humidity," he said. Shah added, "There will be mosquitoes here. We're in a tropical country."
