China launches campaign to curb violent, negative online content
China's Cyberspace Administration has announced a two-month campaign to combat "malicious" social media content that incites "violence or hostility" in society. This follows disciplinary measures against Xiaohongshu (RedNote), Weibo and Kuaishou over failures in content management. The restricted content includes posts that promote "excessive" negative sentiments, such as "hard work is useless".
